🕐10:00 AMOur ladies group performs the graceful Thiruvathirakali around the nilavilakku, set to traditional Onappaattu. Gather around, watch the steps come together, and soak in one of the finest sights of Onam.

🕐11:00 AMOur youngest residents walk the ramp, dressed up in their festive best. A stage, a cheering crowd, and plenty of photos to take home.

A little context
Why we do all this
King Mahabali
Legend says Kerala once prospered under the asura king Mahabali, when no one lied and no one went hungry. Sent to the netherworld by Vamana, he was granted one visit home each year — Thiruvonam. We dress the house so he finds us happy.
Ten days of flowers
From Atham to Thiruvonam, the pookkalam grows a ring a day. Marigold, chethi, thumba, mukkutti — traditionally gathered by the children of the house before the sun is properly up.
The Sadhya (Lunch)
Up to 26 dishes, pure vegetarian, served on a banana leaf in a fixed order — pickles and pappadam at the tip, rice in the middle, payasam at the end. Eaten with the hands, seated on the floor if you can manage it.
